Social Application - Korarg - Korarg - 04-12-2018

Hey there. I'm Dave, my character's name is Korarg, and I am applying to be a social member of Keine Neuen.

1. Main character name:

Korarg - Mal'Ganis

2. Class and spec:

Affliction Warlock

3. Link to your armory page:

4. Notable alts (name, class, and spec) who are max level:

None yet, but will be leveling some up shortly.

5. Your First Name:

6. Age (must be over 21):

7. Location:

Toronto, Canada

8. What is making you/made you leave your last/current guild?

I joined the guild I'm in now (Best Friends Club) as I was leveling up. The problem is that it is completely anti-social. The guild has over 100 active members online most nights and no one interacts with each other. No messages flowing in guild chat and as far as I know, no guild voice chat. Questions asked in gchat are often ignored by other members. To me, WoW is a social game and I won't stick around for long if I'm not part of an active and social guild. This is why I'm looking for a new home.

9. Why do you want to join this guild? Please answer this carefully indicating that you have read through our site and understand what this guild is about.

I think Keine Neuen meets a lot of the criteria I'm looking for in a guild, especially as Legion draws to a close. I'm looking for an active guild with a mature userbase. My playtime is limited due to real life responsibilities, so I don't want to spend it reading immature "Barrens Chat" messages flowing in guild chat. I want to run dungeons and world quests with people who don't blow up and quit at the first sign of things going wrong. From what I've read on this site and the Mal'Ganis realm forums, I get the vibe that Keine Neuen is what I'm looking for.

Truthfully, I'm thinking of getting back into raiding upon the release of Battle for Azeroth. For me, joining Keine Neuen now is my way of trialing this guild. Assuming I'm having a good time as a social member while Legion is winding up, I would be inclined to apply for a raid team position when BfA begins.

10. Our (non-public) forums are very active. We also use our (non-public) forums for raid sign-ups and for important guild announcements/strategies/planning. We have had people join in the past who would never log onto the forums which made absolutely no sense since it is the main place to find out everything about raids/members of the guild/strategies etc. If you join, will you make sure that you keep up with our forums and actively read them and participate?

If the forums are active, I have no issue with reading and participating regularly. I was the guildmaster of a raid guild for approximately 4 years, so I understand the importance of posting strategies and guild notices outside of the game.

11. Please tell us a little bit about yourself. This is probably the most important question in a social app.

As mentioned above, my name is Dave. I'm almost 30 years old and live in Toronto, Canada. I work full-time in the tech industry as a software engineer. My hobbies include going to the gym, reading, and video games (obviously!). Between my job and hobbies, my playtime for WoW can be limited. Since I'm a goal-oriented person on a time-limited schedule, I make the most of my in-game time achieving whichever goal I feel is most important to me.

When it comes to WoW, I've been playing off and on since Vanilla. I spent some of that time as a progression raider, pushing through Sunwell on release back in TBC as well as heroic Firelands and heroic DS back in Cataclysm. I've spent some years as the GM of a guild, helping my friends and I push raid content. I've also spent some time as a casual player, much like I am now, running mythic dungeons and PvPing with friends.

12. Recruitment is very important to any long lasting guild. Please let us know, how did you go about searching for your new WoW home, what sites did you visit, and how did you hear about Keine Neuen?

I first heard about Keine Neuen back in TBC. As an Alliance player, I remember bumping into and trading kills with members of KN across the Isle of Quel'danas.

Recently, I saw Keine Neuen's recruitment post on the official Mal'Ganis forums. This is primarily where I've been looking at guilds that are recruiting. I've also spent time scanning guild recruitment posts (among other mind-numbing messages) in trade chat.
